KS2 Christmas Talent Show

Wow! What a great show the KS2 children put on for the school. Bags of talent and a wide range of acts. Well done to all those who performed and put in hours of practise.

Choir club

Well done to the children in choir club! Two excellent performances in front of lots of people: one at the village hall and one at an old-people’s home. You have made their Christmas!

Christmas Lunch

Thanks to our cooks, Cath and Sandy, who once again, provided a fantastic Christmas dinner. The children looked wonderful in their Christmas jumpers!

New Menu

It has been brought to our attention that when Edwards & Blake printed the new menus for next term, they have left the pasta dish off the choices. However the Pasta dish is still available and please order this in the usual way. It will follow the pattern of the last menu.

Reminder: Please have meal orders into the office on Monday of every week with the order for the following week.  Any orders not placed, we will no longer be able to provide your child with a spare meal as we do not have this option.

Thank you.

Ancient Egyptian Engineering!

As part of our topic work this term, Dove class have been designing, constructing and testing an ancient system the Egyptians used to retrieve water from the Nile. The ‘shaduf’ was simple lever mechanism that allowed buckets of water to be lifted and then tipped straight onto the fields next to the river with minimal man-power. The children experimented with placing the fulcrum at different points along the lever arm, deciding on the most effective position, and then had a ‘bucket’ of laughs soaking each other during their testing!

Advent Calendars (with a difference!)

Children in Lion and Dove classes have been opening up advent calendars promoting acts of kindness this Christmas. Every day, a child chosen at random opens up an envelope to reveal a random act of kindness they might chose to perform for family, friends or anyone in need in the local community. The children have loved the idea so far and have come up with some fantastic suggestions of their own. Favourites have included writing a Christmas card to elderly neighbours, donating a food item to a homeless shelter and helping parents with household chores!

Nativity preparations 2017

Nativity preparations for our 2017 performance ‘A King is Born’ is in full swing! We have been busy rehearsing, making costumes and creating this beautiful back drop with the help from Mrs Randle. The children worked really hard designing and creating the hay bales, camels and the donkey! They even decided on the very careful placement of the baubles! Well done to Sheep and Whales class!
